I bought a pair of Gaviotta shoes in my normal size and couldn’t get them on ! I told my supplier, asking them if the size was labelled correctly. They offered me the wider fit which wgen I put on were like Clowns shoes. I couldnt run in either pair. Being a constant Hoka devotee, I setlled for a pair of Clifton 4’s
Though for me personaly they never bettered the original Clayton model in terms of fit comfort and softness of ride .

I have both the Gaviota and the Arahi. Gaviota gives much more comfort and t fits me perfectly. At the beginning I liked the Arahi for its quickness and being very light for a stability shoe. Its faster then the Gaviota. But after a while is didn’t like the early stage metarocker. Also I preferred the cushioning on the Gaviota more. For me the outsole of the Arahi started te wear out very fast and I didn’t like the fit of the Arahi 1. Don’t know if it is better with the Arahi 2. I would choose the Gaviota over the Arahi anytime. I just bought a new pair Gaviota’s. Hope this helps you…

Hi Michael – it’s very personal. I don’t have a problem going from the 12mm of the Inspire 14 to the 5mm of the Gaviota, but I know that some people have. I really like them but I understand the worry. Sorry, it’s one of the things you really need to try for yourself 🙁

I recntly tried the NB Fresh Foam Vongo V3 and found it very difficult to cope with the 4mm drop, very sore calves and glutes after 3 x 20 mile runs. Am I likely to find the same problem in the Gaviota’s ??

I’m in the market for stability shoes and considering the Gaviota but it’s difficult to find locally. However, they do have Arahi, do you think better Gaviota or Arahi?

I´m used to have a very supportive shoe like the Brooks GTS, but i would like to try something with a little more cushioning . I found the Brooks Transcend not supportive enough, are these a bit more like the GTS or like the Transcend? And about the millage they could hold?

The Arahi offer better stability. I have both and the Arahi are better for over pronators. Gaviota has more cushioning. I’ve found the seams on the gaviota to start coming off as well which is disappointing for the price.
