I’m a runner. i run in dirt, puddles gravel. I run everywhere.
This shoe is just silly. The push to sell these is sad to see. Fruit of the loom wants to put one over on everyone since they bought Brooks. “Cheapen the shoe, leather is out, cloth is in” Now pour Zillions into ads to convince people that this flimsy, unsupported excuse for the best is good.

I’m comparing them to the 18. Unfortunately they are not what the 18 was at all. Full transparency I’m not a runner . I have had both of hips replaced ,full anterior procedure. Both surgeries were very successful. My DPT is a runner and recommended me to try the beast 18 for my recovering therapy. I’m 68 years old male, 6’ , 215 very fit and active. Immediately I loved the shoe. Support and overall feeling of stability and comfort through my therapy for both hips. I regretted only buying four pairs throughout my both recoveries . Hopefully the newer models will go back to what the 18 felt like. Yes they were heavier , but for my overall comfort and needs have been the best shoe, or sneakers I have ever worn . I’m a retired UPS driver , 25 years. So I have experienced many work shoe and sneakers. In my past.

The material on the outside of both shoes above my big toe has completely worn away. And on the top near my small toe, the shoe is completely torn away from the base of the shoe exposing my foot. The hard plastic material at inside back heel is completely broken up and is now tearing apart my heels. I have not done any extensive running on these shoes compared to the previous Brooks Beasts I’ve been wearing for the last 10+ years. The previous models never had any of these problems and I had ran/trained for many half-marathons on them.

I have worn Brooks Beast for many years. I changed from Saucony to Brooks Beast when Brooks Beast came in with a wider toe and and deeper toe box.
My right foot is longer and wider than my left and it is now impossible for me to wear my same size of 10.5 2E for men. I am a woman and have big feet. I measured the widest part of the front of the shoe. Brooks Beast 18 was 11.5 cm. and Brooks Beast 20 was 10.9 cm. This difference makes it impossible for me to comfortable wear the Beast 20 especially on my right foot. I also measured the depth of the toe box. The Brooks Beast 20 was 5 cm. and the 18 was 6 cm. I ordered the shoes online because I couldn’t find any nearby, so now have the unwanted task of returning them and searching for another suitable pair. I have severe pronation, flat feet and curled in toes. I would appreciate any suggestions for shoes suitable for my problems. I am so upset that Brooks has changed the properties of the Beast 18. Any suggestions of a replacement shoe suitable for my problems would be welcome.

I need stability cushioning motion control wide toe box. Yeah they were heavy , but they were like stepping on clouds. The 2020 are useless. I kniw the minute I put my foot in. Now I can’t find anything that doesn’t kill my feet knees and spine . Please brooks bring back the 2016 and under.

Full transparency I’m not a runner. .67 year old male . 6’ 215 weight. I’m very fit . I have had both full anterior hip replacements. I can do full splits. Again. The Beast 18 was for my needs best shoe I have ever worn. Luckily I purchased 4 pairs. As we all know you cannot get them anymore . I was excited about the 20 ,purchased 2 pairs. Honestly when I first walk with them I felt like a low inexpensive sneaker. Experience ???? Very disappointed. Yard work shoes now.

I have experienced the same issues with the 20. I have been wearing Beast for 20 years but the model 20 is not fit for purpose – virtually no support or stability. Very sad. How to destroy a great brand. (I am a walker not a runner so the weight is not an issue for me.)

The guard side rails offer no support or stability compared to the 18 and below. I have been wearing them for 16 years. They were ordered by my podiatrist for my severe pronation issues. They made them lighter, but with much less motion control. I sent them back and bought NB 940V4 to replace them. If they ever go back to the original beasts, I’ll be back.

While refereeing, I have to run backward, sidewise, change direction frequently, and stop quickly. The redesigned upper has lost all structure in the toe area, leading to my big toe slamming into the front of the shoe and bruised, purple toenails waiting for it to fall off as I write.) This was never a problem with prior iterations of the Beast, and now my $160 shoes have been reduced to casual wear.

Thanks!! Enjoyed the review.

It appears there are very few at traditional stores where the masses may shop. I’m a long time stability show goer but based on things I’ve read (I supinate) I should be; but they feel so good!

Maybe Mizuno Wave Horizon 3 has stability comparable to Brooks Beast 16/18. WH4 is completely new shoe (no Wave plate), and no as stable as predecessors. However Beast 20 is also completely different than previous Beast generations (that’s a pity). Companies seem not to take care about pronators-shoes-market.

Cannot determine what it is today.
